7. Facebook and Instagram (Meta)
7.1. You can link a Facebook account or an Instagram professional account to your existing Skilz account. A linked account's name or username is shown on your public provider profile.
7.2. Linking is optional and is never a way to sign in. You sign up and sign in to Skilz with your phone number only. You cannot sign up or sign in with Facebook or Instagram, linking does not add a way to do so, and you never need to link an account to use Skilz.
7.3. For Facebook, we ask Meta only for the public_profile permission. For Instagram, we ask only for the instagram_business_basic permission, and only an Instagram professional (business or creator) account can be linked. We do not ask Meta for your email address, your friends list or permission to post or send messages on your behalf.
7.4. From Facebook, we receive and store your Facebook user ID and your name as shown on Facebook. We also store a link to your Facebook profile, but only if Meta gives us one that does not reveal your user ID.
7.5. From Instagram, we receive and store your Instagram account ID, your username, your account type (business or creator) and a link to your Instagram profile.
7.6. For both, we also store the permissions you granted, the date the link was verified, the date we last checked it, the date the access token expires and a Meta access token.
7.7. We store the access token on our servers, encrypted. It is never shown to other users and is never sent to the Skilz app or website. We use the token when the link is made, to confirm which account is yours, and for Facebook, to cancel your permission at Meta when the link is removed.
7.8. Data flows from Meta to Skilz. We do not post anything to your Facebook or Instagram account, and we do not send Meta your Skilz profile, jobs, messages or activity. The only requests we send to Meta are those needed to complete the link and, for Facebook, to cancel your permission when the link is removed.
7.9. Once an account is linked, your Facebook name or Instagram username, the profile link (where we store one) and the date the link was verified are included in your public provider profile. Anyone can see them, including people who are not signed in.
7.10. To remove a link, contact us through the Feedback & Support section in the app, or email us at support@nobots.tech if you cannot use the app. When a link is removed, we delete the stored access token and the link is no longer shown on your profile. For Facebook, we also cancel your permission at Meta. For Instagram, Meta does not let us cancel the permission ourselves, so you should also remove Skilz in your Instagram settings. You can remove Skilz's access in your Facebook or Instagram settings at any time.
7.11. When you start linking, we create a temporary linking session that expires after 10 minutes and is then deleted automatically. The link record and its access token are kept while the link exists. When a link is removed, the access token is deleted at once; the remaining link details (such as the account ID and the name or username) stay with your account, no longer shown publicly, until Skilz staff delete your account as described in 7.12.
7.12. When Skilz staff delete your account, all your Facebook and Instagram link records, including the access tokens, are deleted, and we ask Meta to cancel your Facebook permission. To ask us to delete your account and data, use the data deletion page at https://skilzapp.net/legal/data-deletion.
7.13. Where Skilz makes this feature available, if you have linked an Instagram professional account you can choose to import posts from that account into Skilz, for use as examples of your work. Importing is optional and only happens when you start it yourself while signed in. We read only your own posts, using the instagram_business_basic permission and the access token described in 7.6 and 7.7.
7.14. Each import reads up to 50 posts (photos, videos and posts with several photos or videos) from your Instagram account, and we keep no more than 50 imported posts for each Skilz account.
7.15. For each imported post, we receive and store its Instagram media ID, its media type (image, video or carousel album), the link to the post on Instagram, its caption and the date and time it was posted on Instagram. We also store the date it was imported, which Instagram link it came from, and the dates our record of it was created and last updated. If you import again, we update these details for posts already imported. A post you delete on Instagram is not removed from Skilz by a new import; it is removed as described in 7.18.
7.16. We do not receive or store the photo or video file itself, and we do not keep a copy of it on our servers.
7.17. Imported posts are not shown on your public provider profile or to other users.
7.18. To remove your imported posts, ask us to remove your Instagram link as described in 7.10. When the Instagram link is removed, all your imported posts are deleted. When Skilz staff delete your account as described in 7.12, all your imported posts are also deleted. You cannot delete a single imported post on its own.
7.19. Importing only reads your posts from Instagram: in addition to the requests listed in 7.8, each import sends Instagram a request for your posts. Importing does not post, change or delete anything on your Instagram account.
